TGIF, Friends! Wondering how the weekend keeps sneaking up on you and what you're going to do with the kiddos? Don't worry, I've got you covered with my top picks of the weekend!
Saturday: School of Rock: Best of the 2000s Preview Show (Arlington)
Want to expose your kids to the idea of playing an instrument and rock out to some of the music of our younger, more adventurous days? Well then, School of Rock Medford's Saturday show is a perfect way to do that!
Saturday: Storytime at Moon & Back Bookstore (Medford)
I'm heavily biased in recommending this event because I love Moon & Back and I love, love, love the guest reader for Storytime on Saturday: Miss Lisa from Winchester Co-Operative Nursery School. She is magical with children and this is a must-do if you want to check out Moon & Back (or get another punch in your loyalty card!).
Saturday: Spotlight Productions Presents "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" (Medford)
I feel compelled to clarify the title of this event - it's a musical production, it's not a Spelling Bee (but honestly both would be fun to watch, TBH and I think that's the point of the production!). And, it's a fundraiser! If you attend, you'll help support Spotlight Production's goal of purchasing a brand new sound system.
Sunday: $1 Days at the Boston Children's Museum (Boston)
These once/month $1 days at Boston Children's Museum are amazing opportunities to get your kids out of the house without breaking the bank! And, parking meters are free on Sundays, so if you're able to snag one near the museum, you can have yourself a pretty affordable Sunday in the city.
Sunday: The Lion King Jr. (Winchester)
As a kid, I always loved watching other kids perform on stage and I hope my kids share my love of live performances! This weekend, there are many opportunities to catch local kids perform in the Lion King Jr. at McCall Middle School. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online in advance.
