TGIF. We made it to Friday on February vacation, friends. I don't know about you, but we crammed the aquarium and a museum into our week, as well as a few play dates with some friends and our usual indoor soccer on Saturdays. But, if you're like me, you know it's better to get up and out of the house than it is to hunker down and let your kids run amok. That's why I work so hard to keep my event calendar updated -- I imagine you're in the same boat! Here's what's on my radar for this weekend:
Friday: Crafting at Colleen's (Medford)
My kids LOVE Colleen's, but I always feel bad about how much havoc they wreak while they're there. Fortunately, Colleen's has crafting on Friday, 3-5 p.m, so if you go, you can feed your kids a good, affordable meal (and ice cream!), while they craft.
Saturday + Sunday: Kids Movies at Lord Hobo (Woburn)
Remember when you could enjoy a leisurely Saturday at a brewery? Well, now you can (kind of!), because Lord Hobo in Woburn is showing kid-friendly movies on Saturday and Sunday. Hard to feel guilty about screen time if you're not the one supplying the screen! 😉
Saturday: The Greatest Showman Sing-Along (Arlington)
The Greatest Showman lived rent free in my brain for 2 years and honestly it can live there for another 200 more if I go to the sing along this weekend. The folks at the Regent Theatre in Arlington are bringing back a great flick and are highly encouraging you to belt out your best Rebecca Ferguson and Hugh Jackman (j/k sadly, that's not Rebecca's voice, but who cares).
Sunday: Kids Painting on the Green (Burlington)
The folks at 3rd Ave in Burlington brought the very popular outdoor spring/summer painting event indoors for winter at King's. So, if your little ones like to paint and you prefer for them to paint anywhere but your house, this is the event for you! Note: it's ticketed, so know before you go.
Sunday: $1 Museum Days at the Boston Children's Museum (Boston)
If you're looking for one of the most affordable ways to take your kids to the Boston Children's Museum, this is your best shot. Follow the instructions for this one at the link above so you know how to score the deal. And, bonus! Parking meters are free in Boston on Sundays, so if you've got the patience, you can do this very, very affordably!
