Weekend Event Guide (Oct. 11-14)

By Jenna Amyot October 10, 2024

This is always one of my favorite long weekends. Fall foliage, fairs (but I refuse, and I mean I refuse, to go to the Topsfield Fair), fall foods. It's just the best. Even if the only reason I have a long weekend is because my kid's school requires us to. :)

Our cities and towns are a bit light on events this weekend, so I went a bit farther to give you guys some options of things to do, assuming you're not planning to brave the traffic on Route 1. Below are my event picks! Hope you are all enjoying fall so far!

Andover: Halloween Fall Festival (Friday-Monday)

Smolak Farms is one of my favorite places to visit, especially in the fall. This weekend, they've a Halloween-themed weekend. Complete with spooky hayrides, pumpkin picking and more (and by more I mean cider donuts).

Winchester: Pumpkin Painting at Mahoney's (Saturday + Sunday)

Do your kids love painting but do you hate letting them paint in the house (or is that just me...?). Well, the team at Mahoney's is ready for Halloween and has a fun little pumpkin painting event this weekend.

Lexington: Pumpkin Village + Potato Blasters (Saturday, Sunday + Monday)

Wilson Farms is just a delightful visit (although my four-year-old is still reeling that there are no animals on the farm...), and this weekend, they're bringing back their Pumpkin Village & Potato Blasters, benefitting Make-A-Wish.

Arlington: Indigenous People's Day (Sunday)

This weekend is also a great time to expose kiddos to Native American culture, especially at this event at Arlington's Town Hall featuring singers and dancers from the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe.

Tewksbury: Pumpkin Festival (Saturday, Sunday + Monday)

Rounding out this weekend's pumpkin-filled activities is a fest at a local farm in Tewksbury, one they've been hosting for years. If you're looking for a low-key way to enjoy hayrides, pumpkin patches, this is the place for you.
