It's warmed up so quickly, that a few weeks ago, I found myself searching for new outdoor toys and essentials beyond the standard water table and small inflatable pool for the kiddos (though we definitely have those too!). These have become an instant hit and necessity around here, so I'm sharing them with you. If you've got a new favorite item for summer, I'd love to hear about it!
When the workday is over, it's game on over here. Everyone in the fam loves to chase each other around with these, and on a hot summer night, it's a fun way to cool off together.
Am I a minimalist? No, but do I love simple ways to pack a go bag? Yes. That's why I love these collapsible sand buckets. We don't travel light to the beach, but I love when I can condense our packing into fewer (or smaller) bags and these definitely help get the job done.
I ordered two kids' beach chairs off Amazon and then canceled the order minutes later, when I found these awesome options at Ace Hardware. They're more affordably priced, available for in-store pickup and have a canopy already attached (not an umbrella to attach... an umbrella my kids would inevitably turn into a sword).
Kids will never know the days when you had to fix a latex balloon to a hose, fill it with water and then tie the smallest knot in your life only to do it 400 times over again in one day. These reusable water balloons are AWESOME. They fill and refill quickly - and after the kids are done playing, your yard isn't littered with broken balloons (I know all the dog owners in our neighborhood appreciate this!).
If your kiddo has long hair, you know that a day in the water can leave it in a tangled mess. So, be sure to keep some dentangler spray with you. And while you're packing bags for a long road trip, I always pack a few overnight diapers in the event a kiddo falls asleep in the car and you need a seamless crib or bed transfer when you get home (crib transfers are a rarity around here, but a girl can dream!).
