Winchester Community Music School Brings Back Suzuki Violin Program

Parents Can Enroll Kids as Young as Four Years Old!

We’re doing everything we can to foster a love of music – particularly playing music – in our children. They already love to sing and dance. And they already love listening to live music. We regale them with stories of family members who play instruments, or friends who work in the music industry. We play the hits, the classics and everything in between for them. If my kids learn to play an instrument someday, I’ll be the parent in the front row beaming with pride and sending everyone unsolicited videos of my child performing in a concert.

This fall, Winchester Community Music School, one of the most trusted and respected music schools in our area, is bringing back its Suzuki Violin Program. What does that mean? Suzuki refers to the teaching method, in which children learn how to play an instrument (in this case, the violin) by mirroring the natural processes and environments through which children learn to speak their native language. Just like very young children naturally learn to speak their native tongue through immersion (hearing their language spoken around them all the time) and repetition of common words and phrases, the Suzuki method holds that children as young as four years old can learn to play violin. And now is a PERFECT time to get started because the Suzuki violin program is starting with a beginner’s class on Friday afternoons, so you and your child won’t be playing catchup with others in the class.

Learning to play an instrument has endless benefits, from improved memory and attention span to strong reading, language processing, speech and fine motor skills. If you’ve been contemplating enrolling your child in music lessons, there couldn’t be a more perfect time. Reach out to Winchester Community Music School today!
