Weekend Event Lineup (June 2-4)

Porchfest, Town Day, Summer Playtime Series and More!

By Jenna Amyot June 1, 2023

There are so many great events this weekend. You have your pick of carnivals, live music, and all-that-and more in Winchester's annual Town Day. Also, Farmer's Market season is around the corner, so be on the lookout for those on my event calendar! Below are my top picks of this weekend's events - hope to see you and your families out there! Have a great weekend.

Riverside Plaza Concert Series (Medford), Friday, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The Medford Recreation Department is kicking off its 2023 concert schedule with a new series, the Riverside Plaza Concert Series, starting this Friday at 6:30 p.m. Every Friday in June, you can hear a live musical act and eat takeout from one of Medford's awesome restaurants and purchase beer from the one and only Medford Brewing Company. The first event in this series will feature Jittery Jack, a former frontman for the Boston band, the Raging Teens.

Town Day (Winchester), Saturday, 8 a.m. - 9:15 p.m.

Last year, I stumbled upon Town Day by accident. It was so great, that I opted to let my 2-year-old skip nap so we could spend the afternoon at the event. To say I've been waiting all year for this would be... accurate. Here's the full schedule of events/activities so you can plan your day accordingly! The weather in the morning is looking a bit rainy, so check the schedule page for updates.

Community Carnival (Burlington), Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Pony rides, face painting, balloon art and more! That's what this annual event at Francis Wyman Elementary has to offer. Admission is free, though tickets for games, activities and food will be sold at the event.

Children's Playtime Series (Woburn), 10-11 a.m.

Woburn Village (home to Shake Shack, HomeSense and Crumbl, to name a few) is launching a new weekly event for families: Children's Playtime Series. It begins this Saturday - with its inaugural event including a puppet show. The event is free, weather-permitting and will be held at The Village Green (behind Surf Seafood & Tavern).

Porchfest (Medford), Saturday, 12-5 p.m.

The live music events in Medford continue on Saturday with Porchfest! If you've never experienced porchfest, it's exactly what it sounds like... people turning their porches into music venues for local musicians to entertain neighborhoods. Here's a detailed map on the performers and... porches.
