Your Guide to Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremonies

There's one everyday this weekend - time to get into the holiday spirit!

By Jenna Amyot November 30, 2022

As a kid, I loved going into Boston for tree-lighting ceremonies. As a parent, I know there's no chance I'm doing that with kids as young as mine! So, I'm super grateful that our cities and towns are getting into the spirit this weekend with tree-lighting ceremonies in Medford, Winchester, Burlington and Wilmington. Below is more information on the events. Let's hope the weather cooperates, because we've got some exterior lights to put up, too. Also, be sure to follow me on Instagram, as I'm adding holiday events to my story highlights! There's so many fun activities planned all month long.

Medford City Hall Tree Lighting & Winter Craft Market

Medford will hold its tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 1 (rescheduled from Nov. 30) at City Hall. And, there'll be a craft market featuring 35 local artists and a guest appearance by the big guy himself, Santa.

Winchester Annual Tree Lighting

The tree lighting is just one of many activities planned in the town of Winchester this weekend. On Thursday, Dec. 1, there's a shop + stroll event to support local businesses. On Saturday, there's a "Best in Stroll" Dog show and on Sunday, there's a "Drive by Santa" event.

Wilmington Annual Tree Lighting

The town of Wilmington has its annual tree lighting slated for Saturday at 4 p.m. at the town common. And, you guessed it, Santa will be there, too! I mean, good luck getting your kids to care about the royals with all these Santa appearances this weekend!

Burlington Tree Lighting

Closing out the weekend's tree lighting ceremonies is the town of Burlington at 4 p.m. on Sunday. This one will include activities, fireworks and Old St. Nick!
