Before having kids, I never paid much attention to playgrounds. Two littles later and I'm desperately wishing Yelp had filters for stroller-friendly, good shade and climbing structures for toddlers! Fortunately, Capen Park checks all those boxes.
My kiddos and I found Capen Park thanks to the Medford Family Network, which hosts playgroups in the park quite often (and my son is a huge fan of Miss Andrea, the beloved host of all these fabulous playgroups).
Capen Park is more stroller friendly than a lot of the parks we visit - you can pull a stroller right up to the climbing structures (assuming you're also chasing after a toddler or more advanced climber). It boasts a lot of natural shade thanks to surrounding trees (possibly our top filter during our heatwave-filled summer) and it has a modest splashpad, as well as at least one ADA swing.
