Weir Hill- North Andover

For scenic foliage hikes not far from Boston, this Essex County town—bordered by the Merrimack River and Lake Cochichewick—is home to Weir Hill, a Trustees of Reservations preserve with hiking paths offering sweeping views of the Merrimack Valley and beyond.

Rockport / Gloucester / Essex / Newburyport
This drive tour will take you past or through some of the prettiest coastal towns of New England. You will see beautiful foliage and other autumnal sights, like pumpkin patches and corn mazes. The drive comprises two sections that you can combine any way you like. One section is centered on the town of Newburyport, midway between Salisbury Beach and Plum Island (details below). Great trip for people who love walking beaches and watching marine plant and animal life.
The other drive begins (or ends) at a historic house, Castle Hill on the Crane Estate with a breathtaking vista above a large estuary, and then meanders through the towns of Essex, Gloucester, and Rockport.

Minuteman National Historical Park

Minute Man National Historical Park is comprised of 1038 acres and is located in Concord, Lexington, and Lincoln, Massachusetts. The park was established in 1959 and currently attracts more than one million visitors each year. Fall is a wonderful time to visit while you enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Horn Pond
Lake Street and Arlington Road, Woburn, MA, 02228
Horn Pond is a great area to visit for nature,( specifically leaf-peeping in the Fall) kayaking, canoeing, fishing, sunset watching, birdwatching, dog walking, a place to take the kids, hill climbing or just relaxing. There is a large network of walking trails through varying landscapes. there is also a designated walking route around the pond. you can climb up the mountain for a great view of Winchester and Woburn.

Mount Greylock State Reservation
Adams MA
This is a bit more of a drive, but definitely worth it. At 3,491 feet, the summit is the highest point in Massachusetts and a must-see foliage destination with eye-popping views of the Berkshires and beyond. The reservation offers 70 miles of designated trails for hiking and mountain biking, including an 11.5-mile section of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. More information HERE
